An optical string or an optical fiber is a long and narrow string of a transparent material such as glass (silica) or plastic, which can emit light from one end to the other. Optical fiber has a much higher bandwidth than ordinary cables, and with it, image data, audio and other data can be easily transmitted with a high bandwidth of up to 10 Gbps and above. Today, optical communication is considered one of the most important means of information transmission due to its wider bandwidth compared to copper cables and lower delay compared to satellite communication.
